Riddle Me This, Bug Lovers

It seems the Mistress has some un-wanted house guest, and not the kind I want. Every winter it seems that I get Lady Bugs in the boudoir at the one window in the room. And it drives me crazy. And not just one, but a convention! Take yesterday morning for example. While they are cute bugs and are not harmful to household fabrics, and they do eat aphids which I'm happy to hear, I still don't want them around in the house. There were about seven ladies walking around the window, so I grab a paper towel, collected them, and put them outside. Not even a half hour later there were about 8 more in the same window. I give up. And at night I don't see them. Where the hell do they go? And I found this picture on the internet of Lady Bugs mating. It seems they are into threeways! I did find that when they mate they have multiple parnters in groups like one big orgy. Lovely. I have a group sex scene going on, on my window sills!!!

Do any of you have problems with Lady Bugs and any advice to why I'm getting these critters? I only seem to get them in the winter. In the spring they disappear. How do you get rid of them does anyone know?

  1. First, you whisper to them, 'ladybug, ladybug, fly away home,
    Your house is on fire.
    And your children all gone'.

Of course, the origin lies with the English, who had a bad habit of burning anyone whom they disagreed with at the time.

I expect, at night, they are hiding in the secret ladybug tunnel and ladybug winter abode they have somewhere around your window frame. Since the weather is still sketchy they aren't leaving until it settles down.

Apparently there is a product - *called a Ladybug Black Light Trap. It uses radiating black light to attract and contain the ladybugs.*

  2. Just as long as they aren't Lady BUNNY Bugs. Those little buggers will drink up all your liquor, and then sleep with your man...

    XOXOXOXOXOXO

  3. I get lady bug around the sill of the window at the top of my staircase... It requires a ladder to reach it, so I just ignore them.

They are harmless, clean, and as you said, eat aphids, and they usually don't stay too long! I just enjoy them while they are there and kinda miss them when they're gone!

And the ancient Chinese, I believe, consider having them in your home to be a sign of good fortune!

Yeah, they're supposed to bring good luck, so maybe you'll have good luck in the sack since they're congregating in your bedroom. You could round them up and sell them. Gardeners like to use them to get rid of unwanted pests. I still feel bad for accidentally murdering one. I was so happy to see it there on my front porch and then I unknowingly stepped on it!

  5. you could try passing out condoms, group sex isn't all that safe without them anyway, your house, your orgy, your rules.

  6. No advice, but like Miss G. said, they are harmless. My office builiding gets them, and they are in the lights where it is warm. Every now and then one drops down and scares the shit out of me, but other than that, no problem.

  7. I have the same problem in my apartment. I did some research and found they hang out in the winter to hibernate. They like the southwestern sun and are pretty harmless. And when they do get in they die in a couple of days from dehydration. I didn't know about the group sex though!

That's right Mistress B don't kill them if you want good fortune! And what's all this group sex talk?

  15. Keep them, they are a sign of good luck! We have them here in spring Maddie, sometimes in huge patches on the house. I don't bother them because they kill all the aphids on my rose bushes in June. I don't think trapping them will work. They will find there way in again. We have had that happen several times.
