To All The Mothers

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all our great and inspirational role models out there including my own! I hope you are all having a very relaxing day with your little ones! I couldn't resist the above picture of some of the most famous Mom's we know and loved! The Mistress didn't travel home as I was just home for Easter, but the Mother did get her care package in the mail yesterday and she was very tickled! We also talked on the phone for about a hour today and her and the Aunt were going to treat themselves to a movie and then dnner. A girl's night out! And here are more vintage picture greetings for the Mom's out there! And I couldn't help but post this video of Helen Reddy singing one of the songs that has always reminded me of me and my mom. I remember it from when I was little. How true it is!

Happy Mother's Day again to Mother's everywhere!

  4. Oh great, you have made me a blubbering mess!my mom was a single mom raising two boys. she had alot of bad luck but she always loved me and my brother. she made sure we were happy. on some of those bad luck days she would sing this song to us before bed. she passed away five years ago and i miss her dearly. this song takes me back to those childhood days when it was just the three of us. i can still see and hear her singing it and my brother and i would say the last line. I Love You Mommy thanks for posting

  8. It was just my mother and I for most of my life...she was an awesome mother who adopted me when I was a day old. I think of us when I hear this song.

  9. My mums sang this to me when I was a young child to sooth me to sleep and it has stuck with me ever since but only today (20 years later) I have googled it. What a beautiful song and it holds so many memories for me. Luckily my mum is still here with me today and although she is going through some VERY hard times at the moment listening to this song has made me realise that nothing is more important that our love and bond. Thanks for the lovely post!

  10. I still say this was made in the epitome of the mid 70's pop era. Helen appeared on several American popular TV shows when it was a hit. What a rare cross-over it was that boggled US mainstream! At the age of 15, I will always remember hearing her sing this LATE at night on radio against my ear as we kids fell asleep. The lyrics are what got me. Happy Mother's Day.

  11. I used to think this song was so corny; now I love it!!!! It's so heartfelt and I do think of my mother, who I haven't talk to two years because of my liking dick! She has a problem wit the gay thing. But after hearing this I think I may call her. Nice post and you made me think way to much today!!!!
