  4. Sad that she ruined her life that way. After all this talent of late, you'd think they would be life lessons. I love the photos of her. How vibrant she looked.

  8. How sad it is that a woman so full of talent and potential is taken from the world so young. Like us all, she had her own personal struggles. It was always my hope that she would put them behind her and find true happiness. And I agree, she gave me many a fun filled night dancing the night away!

  12. Unconfirmed:
Jennifer Hudson & Chaka Khan to perform a Whitney Houston tribute at Sunday's Grammys.
Madness behind the scenes as they are scrambling to pay tribute tomorrow night. I can't say I'm shocked though either.

A tragedy that was coming from far back when she chose drugs over her voice. A shame. Hope she's in peace.

  14. You think you're strong enough to handle them and then you have the $$$, the enablers. The entertainment industry has more drugs than talent in it. And by the time the person realizes they have a PROBLEM/Addiction, they rather be high than sober. When you have money, enablers, and an addictive personality/past, or you think you're invincible,...time won't be on your side. Such a shame. And the man who discovered, found her yet again. How ironic is that???

  15. Music is the lifeblood of our souls; the touchstone of our humanity. And nobody belted it out better than this lady.

So sad, her last years; but what do we expect, when we rocket a mere child up to the heavens of fame and fortune, drop her like a stone for the "next big thing", and gawk and jeer at her free-fall? We and the entertainment industry should be ashamed. And now we have Gaga and Nikki Minja as talent? Surely you jest.

  16. I am deeply saddened by this news. There is so much I'd love to tell others about what is in my head at this moment but it just is too confused.

All I know is that right now I'll be searching my iPod for her voice. Because as long as I hear her there, she's not really gone.

    1. I know what you mean. And funny thing is on my trip back from the south, I was just listening to her Heartbreak Hotel album on my Ipod, thinking, how is she doing now. And she seemed to be on track and looking good. It was almost errie when I heard the news.

  17. Whitney Houston had a voice of the type that comes along only few times in each culture in each century. I don't know how many more talents like this we will see.

  18. First Winehouse, then Etta James now Whitney? One Moment in Time, performed live at the Grammy Awards approximately 1989. This ladies and gentlemen is what we had, what we've lost and why so many of us are grieving tonight. Enjoy.

Just yesterday I was humming "I'm every woman". This is beyond sad, I really hoped she'll make it. In '09 when she released "I Look to You" I was sure she had found a way to move forward

  22. Its funny, I was just listening and singing along to her song "All The Man I Need" the other day at the salon, wondering where mine was, when it came on the radio. I hadn't heard it in a long time and was thinking how much I loved it and would download it when I returned home.

  24. Well, her music was before my time,a troubled soul but brilliant talent. I noticed no one commented on her movies. I found her there, and thoughly enjoyed her acting. Not many singers can have a succuessful cross over like that.
