Upon Their Easter Bonnet

Oh..... God love them.Looks like a group from over at the Infomaniac!!!! I shouldn't make judgement, for this could be me one day. You don't see women wear Easter hats like you did back in my grandmother's day. But here is Bucks County, this time of year, I am amazed to see the older folk breaking out their Easter finery, but the ladies hats are much more serious then the ones above. You just know they took pride in those hats. My style would be more like in my header! A sun shield.

  1. Being Unitarian informality rules the day but I still put Daughter into a cute little pink dress, white frilly socks, white *party* shoes and white gloves. Gawd! I was in danger of Pageant Mom-ness!!

  6. I can remember fondly my mother and grandmother and all their Easter finery and hats collections. All the ladies wore hats and gloves on Easter Sunday. Sort of saddening to see how the US has become so informal in traditions and fashion these days compared to Europe. We here think Uggs, Northface and lululemon are fashion. I think it's disgusting personallly.

Oh I remember making my easter bonnet at primary school and on Good FRiday a big furry bunny would come and put an egg into every ink well - ink wells and bonnets, I sounds 100!

The only time I get to see hats like this where I live is opening day at the Del Mar Racetrack. I doubt I'd have flowers in mine. Okay, maybe one. But it would definitely be big enough for me not to need an umbrella to keep out of the sun.
